My Name is Martyn.. I’m a 29 year old Software Engineer and SOA/SaaS/Cloud Technology Evangelist from Bath, England.
I spent several years contracting as an IT consultant (software and hardware) for the Aviation, Civil, Banking and Publishing industries before settling down to develop what was once considered an industry leading Web Hosting Control Panel, called Helm. I am now developing the next generation VoD (Video on-demand) platform for licensing and distributing Films over the internet to any device or format while utilising SOA and virtualization/cloud technologies.
I live with my girlfriend Nicole, daughter Bella and our two cats in our beautiful house just outside Bath (South West UK).
I work from home so when I’m not working ridiculous hours, I like to be very social with my friends and family.. I’m also an avid Rugby fan, with a season ticket to watch Bath Rugby.
In my spare time I also do the following when ever possible;
- play guitar (Fender Strat and Gibson Les Paul), mainly blues and classic rock, allot Hendrix, Led Zep, ThinLizzy/Gary Moore, as well as jam out some funk and blues rifts.
- Review Peoples Questions on Ardvark.com and WebHostingTalk.com
- Go to the Gym (hmm maybe not as often as I’d like)
- and frequantly watch NasaTv and follow live mission coverage, from Shuttle launches and ISS Operations, to Space Walks.
